Vermilion RCMP lay 64 charges in month of April

During the month of April 2025, Vermilion RCMP responded to 308 calls for service. 

Vermilion RCMP released stats from the policing month of April on their social media recently.

Just over a third of their calls for service were traffic/vehicle related, while the next largest subject of calls was property crime.

  • 112 were related to traffic/vehicle complaints,
  • 69 were related to property crimes,
  • 18 were related to persons crimes,
  • 13 were traffic collisions, and 
  • 13 were suspicious persons or vehicles.

Of the property crime, 18 were mischiefs (damage to property or obstructing lawful enjoyment), 17 were break and enters, 17 were thefts, six were frauds and four were thefts of vehicles.

In addition, 10 calls were related to spousal abuse, and seven were related to mental health concerns.

Charges

During this period, Vermilion RCMP laid 64 charges, with 49 being criminal code and 15 provincial offences.

  • 11 of the criminal charges were related to failing to comply with conditions/court,
  • 11 were related to property crimes, 
  • 10 were related to persons crimes.
  • Four individuals were issued notice of administrative penalties for driving while impaired by alcohol and/or drug.
