Man shooting at vehicle with air soft gun charged in St. Paul

A 24-year-old St. Paul man causing mischief with an air soft gun caused several charges, including assault with a weapon.

On Tuesday, Apr. 1, shortly after 6:30PM, the St. Paul RCMP received a report of a male shooting marble sized objects out of a firearm at another vehicle near 55 Avenue and 48 Street.

Police responded quickly and had one male under arrest within two minutes of receiving the call for service.

RCMP say they found an air soft marble gun in the male’s possession.

Colton Douglas Pederson, 24, a resident of St. Paul has been charged with:

  • Assault with weapon
  • Using imitation firearm in the commission of an offence
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Mischief equal to or under $5,000 – damage to motor vehicle
  • Discharge air gun or air pistol with intent to endanger life

Pederson was held for a judicial hearing and was released on conditions.

He is set to appear at the St. Paul Court of Justice on Apr. 24, 2025.

“This dangerous situation could have had a very different outcome. Fortunately, due to the quick response by officers, no one was injured in this incident,” said Cpl. Stephen Cunningham to the press.
