Fire and Iron Fitness has been a smash success in Glendon.

Since the new gym opened their doors in August, they’ve well exceeded expectations for memberships, with roughly 240 sign-ups to date.

With the extra money that’s been accumulated, on Tuesday, the Village of Glendon made a $25,000 cheque presentation to the Glendon School’s athletics program.

Their original feasibility study estimated between 50-70 memberships, said Mayor Nicholas Werstiuk.

“We wanted it to go to lowering the costs of school sports for kids,” he told Lakeland Connect. “So all kids in Glendon School sports programs can benefit from it.”
