Bonnyville RCMP Issue Shelter-in-Place Advisory Near Kehewin
The Bonnyville RCMP have issued a shelter-in-place advisory for residents near Kehewin due to an ongoing police operation involving a suspect and a firearm.
There is a heavy police presence on Township Road 592A, south of Highway 657 and east of Highway 41 (Buffalo Trail). Authorities are urging residents in this area to stay indoors, lock their doors, and remain away from windows while officers manage the situation.
The RCMP is also asking the public to refrain from sharing photos of responding officers on social media to ensure operational safety.
“We understand how situations like this can create unease in the community,” an RCMP spokesperson stated. “Rest assured, your Alberta RCMP is working tirelessly to locate the suspect.”
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or tips to the Bonnyville RCMP or Crime Stoppers. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
