Vermilion RCMP issue warrant after rental dispute leads to assault & extortion

A Mannville man is facing charges of assault and extortion following a dispute of a rental agreement.

Vermilion RCMP responded to the complaint of a land rental agreement on Oct. 22, 2024.

According to the report, the property owner demanded additional funds exceeding the terms of the original agreement, RCMP said. 

During the altercation, the owner assaulted and threatened the victim.

As a result of their investigation Vermilion RCMP has charged Adam James Michel, a 46-year-old resident of Mannville, with the following offences:

  • Assault 
  • Uttering threats against a person 
  • Extortion 

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
