A notice to check your children’s candy is being shared after metal shards were found wrapped in a piece of a candy.

Lakeland Connect has reached out to Northern Lights Public Schools, who sent out a notice to parents this afternoon, to verify the information.

Social media has been ablaze in recent hours, and we continue to verify the claims.

RCMP recommend parents be vigilant when it comes to inspecting kid’s Halloween candy.

The issue could be part of the manufacturing of the product, as earlier this week, Jolly Ranchers and Twizzlers candies in Newfoundland were found to have some metal or pins in them.
