The Iron Horse Trail Region’s Club of the Year wants to remind you to make sure you get trail passes this year.

The Bonnyville Snowdusters were named the top club in area in 2024 at an October awards banquet.

With winter right around the corner, the board wants to underline some important notes for the upcoming season.

One of them is that by supporting your local club, that helps keep over 200 kilometres of trails maintained and revitalized.

“Everybody likes to go to the cabin, whether they’re quading or snowmobiling, so it’s important to keep up your cabins, because you can lose you cabins if you don’t have your club,” said board member Tracy Fesiuk.

“We take care of all of that in the winter and and sell trail passes to make sure that we get enough money to do that.”

Along with the trail clean-up events, they’ve also made an effort to promote these local Lakeland trails by having a booth at the Edmonton Snowmobile Show.

They’re hoping there’s lot of snow to shred this winter, and build upon the 80 or so individuals who bought trail passes last year.

A big shout in winning the award was given to the many volunteers and sponsors who’ve helped the club grow.

Bonnyville Snowdusters are hosting their annual general meeting on Nov. 7, which is a great place to get more information about the upcoming season.

They also have a website at https://bonnyvillesnowdusters.com/

“We’re just trying to keep our trails alive and get snowmobiling back into Bonnyville.”
