The M.D. will not proclaim Nov. 2-8 as Climate Stability Awareness Week as council voted 6-1 against the motion.
Councillor Josh Crick gave a notice of motion on Oct. 8 to discuss at Tuesday’s M.D. regular council meeting.
The motion looked to “counter the constant drum beat of climate change activism.”
However, those who weren’t in attendance of the meeting will not be able to watch any discussion about it.
The M.D. says they had technical difficulties and that the meeting was not able to be recorded.
Crick did ask for a recorded vote on the motion, but everyone else on council voted against.
