A Bonnyville football player has been enshrined into the record books.
Silas Fagnan, quarterback for St. Francis Xavier’s football team, is now their all-time leading passer.
The former Bonnyville Voyageurs quarterback surpassed Tivon Cook on Saturday for most passing yards in St.FX History with 6945 total yards in the X-Men’s 29-9 win over Acadia.
In his fourth season at the Nova Scotia school, Fagnan continues to be one of the Atlantic University Sport conference’s best players.
The X-Men boast a 4-3 record heading into a matchup against St. Mary’s on Saturday. They gave the conference leader Bishop’s a scare, but eventually fell 42-37 in double overtime earlier this season.
Fagnan is second in the AUS in passing yards with 1822, while throwing 10 touchdowns to six interceptions.
St. FX made it the national semi-final last season, in part to Fagnan’s MVP season.
Following the end of last season, he was selected to play in the East-West Bowl, a chance for CFL scouts to look for homegrown talent.
