Vermilion RCMP lay total of 50 charges in September: report
During the month of September, Vermilion RCMP responded to 289 calls for service.
The majority of the Vermilion RCMP calls were for vehicle or traffic related complaints, with a total of 157.
The next highest was property crime. Sixty total calls were received for property crime, 23 were related to persons crimes, 19 were traffic collisions, and 10 were suspicious persons or vehicles.
Of the property crime:
- 24 were mischiefs (damage to property or obstructing lawful enjoyment),
- 11 were break and enters,
- 7 were thefts,
- 4 were frauds
- 5 were thefts of vehicles.
In addition, 14 calls were related to spousal abuse, and 14 were related to mental health concerns.
Charges
During this period, Vermilion RCMP laid 50 charges, including 20 criminal code, and 30 provincial offences.
Six of the criminal charges were related to failing to comply with conditions/court, five were related to property crimes, and eight were related to persons crimes.
One individual was issued notice of administrative penalties for driving while impaired.
