The Bonnyville RCMP were involved in 191 calls for service from October 11-18.
Copper wire theft bags additional charges
Two people are facing charges after an oilfield lease site break and enter saw a large quantity of copper wire stolen.
The break-in happened Wednesday with police being dispatched at 2:00AM.
Bonnyville RCMP located the pair and arrested them, who were found in possession of break-in tools and drugs.
Their vehicle was packed, police said, with copper wire from the site.
Brent Perdonic, 40-years-old, of Cold Lake, and Patti Wheaton, 48-year-old, of Cold Lake, are both charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Mischief/Damage to Property Over $5000, Possession of Break-In Tools, Possession of Methamphetamine and Identity Fraud.
Perdonic is additionally charged with operating a vehicle without a licence.
A bail hearing was held and a Justice of the Peace released both of the accused.
Their first appearance is Nov. 19.
Man remanded following assault
A 37-year-old Bonnyville man is facing an assault charge after an altercation Saturday night.
Police were called to a residence 55th Street and saw the victim, who had visible injuries on their face.
The suspect was located and arrested.
Christopher Lepine was remanded into custody, to appear in court on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Mustang stolen
RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for a 38-year-old man after stealing a Ford Mustang.
Police received a report on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 3:30AM that someone had stolen their keys and their vehicle on 49th Street.
The car was later recovered, police say, but the suspect is still outstanding.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Nathan Waskewitch, 38-year-old, of Edmonton, who has been charged with Theft of Car, Fail to Comply with Release Order and Theft Under $5000.
Anyone with information on Waskewitch’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Bonnyville RCMP or Crimestoppers.
