Assault with a weapon charges laid after youths followed; search warrant executed: St. Paul RCMP report
Over the past week, the St. Paul RCMP detachment responded to 173 calls for service and executed 18 warrants.
Of note, the detachment received 18 calls for suspicious people or vehicles, with 16 of those were determined to be non-criminal.
On Tuesday, Oct. 8, RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon. Four youth were followed in their vehicle and bear sprayed. Police arrested and charged two individuals.
Tyler Roy Desjarlais (22), a resident of St. Paul was charged with:
- assault with a weapon (x4)
- dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Leland Mitchell Jarvis (18), a resident of St. Paul was charged with:
- assault with a weapon (x4)
- possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Both Tyler and Leland were held for a judicial hearing, and were released with conditions. Both are set to appear at the St. Paul Court of Justice on Oct. 31, 2024.
Search Warrant
On Sunday, Oct. 6, RCMP executed a search warrant in Saddle Lake. Three firearms were seized and one male was charged.
Blair James Cardinal, 48, a resident of Saddle Lake, was charged with:
- unauthorized possession of a firearm
- unsafe storage of firearms (x2)
Blair was remanded into custody, and set to appear in the St. Paul Court of Justice on Oct. 10, 2024.
