St. Paul RCMP charge male following multiple weapons complaints

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. on October 2, 2024, St. Paul RCMP received multiple complaints about a vehicle being driven around with a firearm. Responding swiftly, RCMP officers located the vehicle near 48 Street and 49 Avenue in St. Paul and found a firearm inside.

Justice Alexander Steinhauer, 27, a resident of Saddle Lake, Alta., has been charged with:

  • Possession of a firearm contrary to order (x3)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unsafe storage of firearms
  • Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Operating a motor vehicle without a subsisting certificate of registration
  • Driving an uninsured motor vehicle on a highway
  • Driving while unauthorized
  • Possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized

Steinhauer was held for a judicial interim release hearing and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in St. Paul court on October 10, 2024.
