From all the group’s corporate sponsorships, events, donations, and grants, the Foundation has raised a total of $1.7 million. The goal to finish the building is $2.5 million.

“Another event, blown out of the water. It was so incredible,” Bellamy said. “Bonnyville, the Lakeland area, coming to the table and they’re bringing it.”

This year’s event saw the likes of Theo Fleury, Aaron Pritchett, Michelle Wright, Trevor Hurst, and Nice Horse were among the entertainment for the gala-goers from Friday, Aug. 30.

“It’s just proof positive that all you need to do sometimes just light a spark, and everyone is there waiting for a reason to help and to do good, and this community does it better than anyone else.

“I can’t wait to to show everyone what their hard work and what their donations has done, because it’s going to be the gem of the Lakeland.”
