On Saturday, July 13, at approximately 7:20AM, the Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched to a report of a pickup truck vs semi-truck motor vehicle collision on Highway 55 in the Iron River area.
Upon attending the scene, police discovered that the 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck involved in the collision was reported stolen to the Wainwright RCMP on July 11. The female driver and lone occupant of the vehicle had fled from the scene on foot.
Police conducted patrols in the area where they located and arrested the female driver without incident.
Robin Kelly Tizzard, 37, of Bonnyville was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- Fail to comply with conditions of a Release Order x2;
- Possession of methamphetamine;
- Operate an uninsured motor vehicle on a highway;
- Fail to remain and the scene of an accident.
Tizzard was held by Police for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing where she was released on a no cash deposit Release Order with conditions. Her next court appearance is scheduled in Bonnyville Provincial Court for August 6.
