A fire ban will be issues for the Forest Protection Areas of Alberta at 4:00PM Wednesday afternoon with the increasing wildfire risk.

Since July 1, hot and dry conditions have led to 137 new wildfire starts.

Locally, this includes the Lac La Biche Forest Protection Area.

Fire authorities locally have upgraded concerns to a fire advisory in recent days. This includes the MD of Bonnyville, Summer Villages of Bonnyville Beach and  Pelican Narrows, and Glendon.

Cities, towns, villages and summer villages, as well as federal lands, such as national parks, are exempt from this ban.
