Traffic stop leads to seizure of drugs and weapons: Bonnyville RCMP

Two people are facing charges after weapons and drugs were seized following a traffic stop.
Bonnyville RCMP said they observed a van with a broken tail light and failing to signal on Monday, June 10th just before 11:00PM in Kehewin.
The van was pulled over and it was determined the female driver had warrants for her arrest.
A large amount of drugs, but sufficient enough to traffic, police said, and a handgun were located in the vehicle leading to the passenger being arrested. The RCMP did not disclose the exact quantity of drugs.
Stacey Moosepayo, 41, of Kehewin, is charged with eight different counts Firearms Offences and Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Kali Dion, 26, of Kehewin, was arrested on her outstanding arrest warrant and additionally charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, six different counts of Firearms Offences, two counts of Breaching Conditions, Driving While Prohibited, Driving an Uninsured and Unregistered Motor Vehicle, and Improper Use of Licence Plate.
Both of the accused were brought before a Justice of the Peace for bail hearings and both were released back out into the community.
They are set to appear in court on June 25th.
