Who doesn’t love a bargain?
Sure, there’s the rise of thrifting, but the soul of that trend is old-school garage sale-ing, and a big one is scheduled for this Saturday in both Fort Kent and Ardmore.
The Fort Kent Community Centre is welcoming deal-seekers and vendors looking to relinquish treasures Saturday from 8:30AM to 2:00PM.
“We thought we really wanted to get our community hall back in action again,” said Tracy Fesiuk, event coordinator, Fort Kent Community Centre.
Tables are being sold, a 10×10 space, for $25 for those who want to take part.
A concession will be available on-site to tackle the hunger garage sale-ing provides.
Similarly, the Ardmore Hall is having a breakfast and garage sale on Saturday as well. A pancake breakfast will be happening from 9:00-11:00AM, with the garage sale scheduled from 9:00AM-3:00PM.
It’s $25 for a spot, and you can get a hold of Ann to book at 780-826-2449.
Improvements
The pancake breakfast is $15 for those 12 and up, $7 for a child aged 6-11, and free for little kids age five and younger.
Beyond that, Fort Kent’s board wants you to know they’re open for business.
Big improvements have been made recently. They’ve added a new digital sign outside, a new sound system, a twelve foot projector, and WIFI.
It can now be used as a space for meetings, floor curling, and movie nights.
Spots are filling up for the garage sale. To ensure a spot at the garage sale, contact Twila Gamache to book at 780-826-9642.
Other bookings for the Fort Kent Community Centre can be done at 780-826-1928.
