Six community groups receive grant funding

Several local groups were awarded grant funding at the most recent council meeting.

A total of $49,699 was awarded to six groups through the Community Recreation, Art, Culture and Heritage Investment Grant Policy (CRACH) and the Community Capital Projects Grant, breaking down into the following:

CRACH:

  • Cold Lake Minor Hockey: $4,600 for U15 Female Tier 1 Hockey Provincial Championship Tournament facility rental costs.
  • Pirouette School of Dance Society: $1,500 for annual recital facility rental costs.

Community Capital Projects:

  • Age Friendly Cold Lake Society: $13,375 to assist with the purchase of a lift/elevator.
  • Cold Lake Snowmobile Club: $15,000 to assist with the purchase of a trail groomer.
  • Nelson Heights School Parent Advisory Council: $10,000 to assist with costs associated with installing a playground at the school.
  • Cold Lake and District Sportsmen’s Fish and Game Association: $5,224 to put toward a feasibility and conceptual design with the goal of securing a safe and secure road to their firearms range, as well as relocating the old 600m firearms range.
