The latest single from the Lakeland’s own FKB is now available to listeners.

Formerly known as the Fort Kent Band, FKB’s newest track Mirror on the Ceiling debuted on CBC Radio 1 on Thursday afternoon.

This follows up the hugely successful October single Color Blind which has been seen 192,000 times on YouTube alone.

Now available to stream on several music streaming platforms, the group is branching out to play shows in Nashville as they change their HQ.

Spearheaded by the songwriting efforts of frontman Drew Shalka, the song is produced and co-written by Shaun Frank, who has worked with The Chainsmokers, Dua Lipa, and Liam Payne.

The relationship grew from FKB’s win of the Jim Beam Talent Search in Toronto last June during Canadian Music Week.

This song came out of that experience.

It was recorded over the span of 15 hours and two days, with a major performance at the Indies Awards in between.

Mirror on the Ceiling is about the innocence of youth and wanting to live in those moments forever,” Shalka said in the FKB Spotify profile.

“Sonically, we wanted to express a feeling of longing by combining a variety of influences from different eras like Prince, The Killers, and Bruce Springsteen.”

FKB is set to play at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville on April 18.
