Dr. Brosseau teacher nominated for Edwin Parr Award

Dr. Bernard Brosseau Middle School teacher Rebecca Durocher is being recognized by Lakeland Catholic School Division. 

She is the division’s nominee for the Alberta School Board Association’s Edwin Parr Award, presented to first-year teachers across the province for their dedication and passion for providing excellent education in Alberta. 

Each zone receives an award, so Durocher is Lakeland Catholic’s nominee for Zone 2/3.

“Rebecca’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment is evident in her classroom management skills and dedication to providing hands-on learning opportunities,” said Dr. B principal Joe Marion in his letter of support. 

“She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that her lessons are not only informative but also captivating, catering to diverse learning styles and abilities,” Principal Joe Marion noted in his letter of support for her nomination.” 

In her first year at Dr. Brosseau School, she has formed meaningful connections with her students and fellow staff members. 

“I find immense joy in being a part of the personal and academic growth of my students,” she said.
