St. Paul Canadiens look to clinch 1-seed; hypnotist Wayne Lee coming Saturday

The St. Paul Canadiens are hoping to finish the North Eastern Alberta Junior B Hockey League regular season by clinching home ice advantage throughout the playoffs.

They have two games remaining, hosting the Lloyd Bandits tonight, then the Cold Lake Ice on Friday night.

Only one team is capable of catching them in the Wainwright Bisons, who are two points back with also two games to go. The Bisons host the Killam Wheat Kings on Friday night, then travel to Cold Lake to conclude the regular season.

Riding a six game win streak, St. Paul has only been tripped up four times all year long, boasting a 25-4 record.

After losing their first head-to-head, the Canadiens beat the Bisons the last three times they played.

The other close race to watch is for the 5th seed, where the Killam Wheat Kings have a two point edge on the Cold Lake Ice at the moment.

Quinn Szpak has a six point lead in the scoring race, with 34 goals and 38 assists.
