Sr. Pontiacs go on the road after pair of wins

Riding back-to-back wins on home ice, the Bonnyville Sr. Pontiacs are headed on the road for a pair of contests, having one of their best seasons in recent memory.

With a record of 4-4, and games in-hand against the teams they’re chasing in their division, they’ll face Camrose and Wetaskiwin tonight and tomorrow feeling good about themselves.

At the RJ Lalonde most recently on Sunday, December 2, the Sr. Pontiacs shellacked Morinville 14-3, one of the biggest wins in a long-time for the club.

The team has solid buy-in and consistent rosters, and has seen the likes of Brinson Pasichnuk for home games, scoring 3 goals and 3 assists last Sunday.

Colton Buchta is one of the league’s top scorers with 9 goals and 8 assists on the season, returning veterans Denis Cadrin and Lucas Isley have been solid staples once again, and the youth movement has contributed in memorable ways.

The majority of the players are 26 and under, a rarity for the North Central Senior Hockey League.

Two home dates are slated before Christmas.

Bonnyville hosts Devon Sat, Dec. 16 and Sun, Dec. 17.

Westlock currently sits 1st in the North with 12 points and Devon is 2nd with 10. Bonnyville is 3rd with 8 points.
