PUBLIC NOTICE TO ELECTORS OF THE TOWN OF ELK POINT
Proposed Business – Elk Point Investment Corporation and Green Building Incorporated SECTION 606(1) OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT
Please be advised that this is a Business for the Municipal Controlled Corporation named Elk Point Investment Corporation and Green Building Incorporated located in the Town of Elk Point Industrial Park.
TAKE NOTICE the Town of Elk Point Council, in the Province of Alberta,
- The Municipal Controlled Corporation will provide hemp fabricated biocomposite products for housing and other structures.
- The names of Shareholders of the Municipal Controlled Corporation are the Town of Elk Point. • The services provided by the Municipal Controlled Corporation will initially be to the Lakeland region, however if the market is proven, the services will expand into North America.
- Stage one market is Frog Lake First Nations purchasing 2500 hempcrete blocks for basements of five houses. Frog Lake First Nation is also constructing a water treatment plant which could use these blocks. Other Nations also want hempcrete blocks.
- Stage two is the larger commercial processing facility that will be expanded when the market is proven in North America.

A Public Hearing will be held on Monday, December 11th, 2023 at 6:30 PM in the Northern Lights Library System Building at 5615 48 St, Elk Point, AB T0A 1A0.
Bylaw 877/23 – Procedural Council & Committee
- If an elector wishes to address Council during a public hearing, they must register to speak by emailing executiveassistant@elkpoint.ca or contacting the Town office at (780) 724-3810.
- If an elector wishes to act as a Representative on behalf of other, or would like someone to act as a Representative, they must submit the Agent Declaration Form. This form must be obtained from the Town Office and must be submitted to the Town Office five (5) business days prior to the Regular Council Meeting or Public Hearing.

INFORMATION FOR ELECTORS
Pursuant to the Municipal Government Act an “elector” means:
A person who is eligible to vote in an election for a councillor under the Local Authorities Election Act. Pursuant to the Local Authorities Election Act a person is eligible to vote in an election if that person: a) is at least 18 years old,
- b) is a Canadian citizen, and
- c) resides in Alberta and the person’s place of residence is located in the municipality on election day. A petition for a vote of the electors on the proposed bylaw must be signed by electors of the municipality equal in number to at least 10% of the population and be in accordance with sections 222 to 225 of the Municipal Government Act. A petition for a vote of the electors must be reviewed by the Chief Administrative Officer with 15 days after the date of the last publication of this notice.
