Three people remanded into custody after attempted carjacking

Three people were remanded into custody after an attempted carjacking outside a store in St. Paul County. 

On Friday, October 13, 2 at roughly 2:00pm, St Paul RCMP responded to an attempted armed robbery with a firearm at the Foisy store.  

The victim and his family were having lunch at the Foisy store when he observed a male attempting to steal his vehicle. 

Police say the victim confronted the male, which began a physical altercation to prevent the theft. Then a second suspect exited a vehicle and pointed a gun at the victim.  

The suspects fled the area in a vehicle that was later determined to be also stolen. 

 

Two of the suspects were later arrested in Edmonton after a police operation by Edmonton Police Service.

The third suspect was arrested on Highway 28 near Smoky Lake after a police pursuit.


Corey Clouthier, 25, of Cold Lake, Dakota Marchinko, 25, and Vincent Nordli, 25, of Edmonton, have been charged with numerous offences including Robbery with a Firearm, Flight from Police, Possession of stolen property, and numerous firearms related offences.

 

All three were remanded into custody pending bail hearings, police said. 

Dakota Marchinko’s next court appearance is set for Thursday, November 2, while Vincent Nordli and Corey Clouthier have court scheduled for Thursday, November 9 to speak to bail.
