Mayor Tim MacPhee and members of Vegreville Town Council have officially hired Sandra Ling as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of  Vegreville, effective Monday, October 16.

Ling assumes the role after three months as Interim CAO, which began on July 20.

“We are pleased to announce that Sandra Ling has been officially appointed as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Vegreville,” said MacPhee in a press release.

“Following a highly productive period in the capacity of Interim CAO, we are confident that she is the ideal choice  for our community. Sandra brings a wealth of experience, having previously served  as a Town Councillor and as a valued member of our administrative team. Her  longstanding residency in our community further underscores her deep  understanding and commitment to our town.”

Ling’s commitment to public service began with a term as a Town of Vegreville Councillor from 2007 to 2010. She later joined the Town as an employee in 2016 as an Executive Assistant, eventually advancing to Legislative Services Manager, a position she held before taking the  Interim CAO position.

During her time with the Town of Vegreville, Ling completed the National Advanced Certificate in Local Authority Administration (NACLAA) at Levels I and II. Additionally, Ling recently attained the Certified Local Government Manager (CLGM) designation, which signifies a public manager with commendable academic and professional accomplishments.
