UPDATE: Possible abduction in Goodfish Lake: St. Paul

RCMP report that on Oct. 13, 2023, Shelby Jackson was located and arrested. Jackson has been taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with his next court appearance date set for Oct. 16, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lac La Biche.

 

UPDATE #1

RCMP report that Theresa Coutre has been located and is safe.

 

RCMP continue the search for 33-year-old Shelby Jackson and have obtained a warrant for Jackson’s arrest for Kidnapping.

 

Shelby Jackson is described as:

  • Male
  • Medium complexion
  • Black Hair
  • Brown Eyes
  • 5 feet 8 inches tall
  • 230 pounds

Shelby Jackson is considered armed and dangerous, if seen do not approach call 911 immediately.

BACKGROUND

On Oct. 10, 2023, at 1:15 p.m., St. Paul RCMP received a report of threats with a firearm at a residence at Goodfish Lake.

 

Upon arrival, RCMP located signs that an occupant of the home, 26-year-old Theresa Kathleen Coutre, was taken against her will and was missing. Although the investigation is still ongoing, RCMP believe that Coutre was forcefully taken from the residence by 33-year-old Goodfish Lake resident Shelby Jackson.

 

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has been dispatched to the community to assist with the investigation.

 

RCMP are asking for the publics assistance in locating Theresa Coutre who is described as:

  •  Female
  • Medium complexion
  • Black Hair
  • Brown Eyes
  • 5 feet 5 inches tall
  • 134 pounds

 

Additionally, RCMP are attempting to locate the suspect Shelby Jackson who is described as:

  • Male
  • Medium complexion
  • Black Hair
  • Brown Eyes
  • 5 feet 8 inches tall
  • 230 pounds

 

Both Coutre and Jackson have ties in Eastern Alberta, Fort McMurray, Edmonton and Lethbridge.

Shelby Jackson is considered armed and dangerous, if seen do not approach call 911 immediately.
