Cold Lake Royals take home a shut-out win of 44-0
The Cold Lake Royals kicked off their first game at home and took the first win of their football season.
Friday night’s game was a 44-0 shut-out for the Cold Lake Royals against the Wainwright Commandos at Thomas Varughese Field.
During warmup, Royals Quarterback Kian MaLayghlin #20 said they were ready to rock and is bringing heart and hustle to the game.
The Cold Lake Royals had two previous exhibition games and attended a jamboree before Friday night’s game giving them the on-field experience.
“Most of the teams haven’t gone to a jamboree and two other exhibition games,” said Royals Linebacker Kael Roszell #12.
“So I’m hoping that experience of on-field play already pushes us ahead of them.”
The Royals pushed passed Wainwrights’ defence holding a strong offence and defence throughout the entire game.
Cold Lake Royals are off to Lloyd for their second regular season game on September 22nd.
The Cold Lake Bantam Ravens also took home a 14-7 win Friday night against the Lloyd Chargers.
