Young cancer survivor Paisley-Anne raises over $2K for Kids with Cancer Society
A young local cancer survivor held Cookout 4 Cancer at Kinosoo Beach in Cold Lake this past Sunday to give back to the Kids with Cancer Society.
It was a great success for a young girl named Paisley-Anne, whose fundraising event aimed to give back to the society that helped her tremendously throughout her treatment.
“We thought we would do an event to give back to the organization that helped us so much through her treatment, the Kids with Cancer Society,” said Ricki-Lynn Jean, Paisley-Anne’s mom.
Paisley-Anne is three years out of treatment and on Sunday she raised $2,212.78 to give back to the Kids with Cancer Society.
She was diagnosed with Optic Glioma, an optic nerve tumour, in her left eye, in March of 2019. She finished her treatment in 72 weeks and is cancer-free.
Sunday was filled with kid activities, food vendors, a barbeque, a silent auction, a 50/50 and more out on the beach.
Jean mentioned that they are grateful for the City of Cold Lake, the community, neighbours, friends, family, local and national business and their volunteers who all stepped up to help Paisley-Anne.
They have left open the donation link for those who would like to donate and help Paisley-Anne hit her fundraising goal.
