DAYCARE COOK
at Les Petits Oursons, St-Paul
1 FULL-TIME POSITION
Under the supervision of the daycare director, the incumbent will create and execute a meal plan for the children, while adhering to established guidelines and budgets and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The cook, at the request of the daycare director, may be required to perform the duties of an early childhood educator; engaging children in activities likely to encourage their intellectual, physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. In addition, the educator oversees the progress of the children under his/her responsibility and selects strategies to meet each child’s individual needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess or able to obtain an approved Food Safety Course,
- Possess an Early Childhood Educator Level 1 Certificate in Alberta or the equivalent from another province, or
ability to obtain, - Awareness of the reality of exogamous and francophone families in a minority setting,
- Fluency in spoken and written French, and a good knowledge of English,
- Ability to communicate well and work harmoniously as part of a team with families and colleagues,
- Criminal record check (vulnerable sector).
CONSIDERED AN ASSET:
- Early Childhood Educator Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Alberta or the equivalent from another province,
- First Aid Certificate valid in Alberta,
- Bilingual (French/English),
- Relevant experience in nutrition and early childhood education.
