St. Paul RCMP catch two break-and-enter suspects in the act
Two people wanted on outstanding warrants were caught in the act of trying to break into a towing compound.
On Thursday, July 6, at 2:52 a.m., St. Paul RCMP received a report of an intruder at the St. Paul towing compound in the industrial park.
RCMP members responded immediately, locating and apprehending two suspects who were hiding amongst the vehicles in the compound.
The two suspects who also provided false names to police gained entry to the compound by cutting a hole in the fence.
Janice Jackson, 42, a resident of Saddle Lake, who was wanted Canada-wide for breaching her federal parole release, has also been charged with the following offence:
- Break and enter
- Mischief
- Possession of break in tools
- Identity fraud
- Obstruction
Joey Omeasoo, 40, a resident of Ochapowace First Nation, Sask., who was wanted on five warrants for his arrest, has also been charged with the following offence:
- Break and enter
- Mischief
- Obstruction
“Motion sensor security cameras and the immediate reporting to RCMP was a huge advantage in the outcome of this occurrence” said Cpl. Stephen Cunningham, St. Paul RCMP, in a press release.
“Motion sensing cameras that can notify the property rep immediately of any movement to their cell phone can play a significant role in securing properties and in this case, assist the police in apprehending criminals in the act. St. Paul RCMP want to remind the public to continue to call in any suspicious activity.”
St. Paul RCMP encourage the public to report any criminal or suspicious activity.
