Cold Lake and area is under a severe thunderstorm watch.

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, damaging hail and torrential rain, Environment Canada say.

The risk of severe thunderstorms will continue late this afternoon and into the evening hours.

Gloomy clouds have been over Bonnyville and area for over an hour with little precipitation so far.
