Two charged following break and enter near Marwayne

Two people are facing charges after a break and enter in progress was busted up by police, and one of the suspects has already failed to appear in court, RCMP said.

Kitscoty RCMP got a report on Thursday, June 8 in the early morning just after 4:30am, of a break and enter on Range Road 13 near Marwayne. The homeowner was watching the suspects on his security cameras.

Police said by the time they arrived, the suspects had left the residence. Officers with the help of Police Dog Services were successful in searching and locating the two suspects in a nearby rural area, they said.

As a result of the investigation, RCMP have charged 27-year-old Onion Lake resident, Ronald Albert Jimmy, with:

  •       Breaking and entering
  •       Possession of break in tools
  •       Possession of property obtained by crime

Jimmy was taken before a justice of the peace and was released. He has since failed to appear in court and has a warrant for his arrest.

RCMP also charged 37-year-old Frog Lake resident, Kezia Naomi Marie Lewis, with:

  •       Breaking and entering
  •       Possession of break in tools
  •       Possession of property obtained by crime
  •       Fail to comply with release conditions (x2)

Lewis was released with her next court date set for August 1 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster.

“A repeat property crime offender such as Ronald Jimmy can victimize many residents in a short amount of time,” says Cpl. Brian Weisbrod of the Kitscoty RCMP, “As he has now failed to appear for court, there is a concern that he intends to continue his criminal behavior.”
