Serious collision declared fatal

On June 13, 2023 at 1:30 PM the Bonnyville RCMP, Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority & EMS were dispatched to a two vehicle collision on Highway 28 near Range Road 482, approximately 16 miles southwest of Bonnyville involving a Dodge Ram pickup truck and a Honda Civic car. The initial investigation revealed that the Honda crossed the center line and collided with the Dodge, RCMP say. 

The 46 year old male driver of the Honda was declared deceased on scene. The driver of the Dodge was not injured.

MD Public Safety Peace Officers provided assistance with traffic control while an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene. 

The Highway was shut down until approximately 6:45 PM and there are no pending charges stemming from this investigation.

Highway 28 is now open for motorists.

Near Kennedy Flats before 2:00pm, a serious collision was reported that forced the highway closed and detours for drivers.

That is around Range Road 481 before Glendon.

More details are expected later, but the collision was serious.
