Bonnyville Health Gala total the best yet in their history
After much anticipation, the Bonnyville Health Foundation hosted its 23rd annual Health Gala and has a new record for money raised.
With all the numbers finally counted up, the month was worth the wait to learn that $427,000 was raised for local hospitals through all the sponsors, silent and live auctions, sales, and more.
In sponsors alone, $174,000 was raised, a new record-breaking number from past years.
A total of $33,900 was raised for the Tyler Chislett Memorial Fund which is for local mental health initiatives.
The cancer clinic received $10,500 from the live auction.
The Lollipop Draw for long-term care raised $11,000.
The palliative care fund got a boost of $2,600 into their goals.
The live auction brought in over $80,000, and the silent auction brought in $38,000.
After selling over 700 tickets, the Centennial Centre was packed on April 15 for A Night in Emerald City, the fundraiser that the Bonnyville community has been waiting for.
With the money raised for palliative care, the cancer clinic, mental health, and the local hospital through the magic of the Lakeland community the money will go supporting the wish list that the foundation receives, each facility’s message, renovations, education programs, and a safety blanket to know these facilities can have access to funds when needed.
The date has already been released to save for next year’s gala hosted at the Bonnyville District Cenntenial Centre on April 13, 2024.
