Cold Lake woman organizing search party to try and find her missing brother
The search for a missing Cold Lake man continues as his sister and friends try to organize a search party for this weekend.
On April 10, Mike Mulroy was last seen at approximately 9:30pm leaving Sobey’s Liquor store near the Tri-City Mall. There’s been no trace of him since then.
In the following days, Cold Lake RCMP and Search and Rescue were activated and searched the wooded area east of the Tri-cities subdivision, which was the last ping his phone sent out earlier that night. That search was unsuccessful.
Jillian York is continuing the efforts with permission from the authorities. Mulvoy’s sister, she is hoping to gather volunteers for this Saturday, to try and find information, and hopefully, find her brother.
“The support I’m getting not only from my own community, my employment community, my friend community, the RCMP, has been fantastic,” York told Lakeland Connect.
“We’re organizing this so we can get to even more places that they just can’t reach.”

The radius of the last phone ping that came from Mike Mulroy. Authorities have searched some of the area so far with nothing found. IMage submitted.
Currently, York is preparing to put together a package for volunteers for what they need to do and know if they wish to participate.
The number of volunteers who have already said they’d help has been “overwhelming” says York, who hopes to set-up and start near the Tri-City Mall on Saturday, tentatively from 10:00am-3:00pm.
Mulroy is 6’1″ and approximately 200 pounds. New pictures have circulated that show Mulroy with a full beard. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with knowledge of Michael’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Cold Lake RCMP at 780-594-3302, who continue to act on new information provided by the public.
