A 37-year-old woman has been remanded into custody after allegedly threatening to burn down a local hotel.

Bonnyville RCMP said on Sunday, March 26 they were called to a hotel on 50th Avenue to a report of a woman who had attempted to light the hotel on fire the night before had returned, and was threatening to do the same.

Police say she smashed a camera inside during her threats.

RCMP located the female, arrested her and brought her before a Justice of the Peace for a Bail Hearing.

Terri Lynn Martial, 37, of Kehewin is charged with arson – disregard for human life, uttering threats against a person, uttering threats against property and two counts of mischief under $5000.

She was remanded in custody and is set to appear in court April 19th.
