Albertans are losing an hour of sleep as Daylight Savings Time is making its mark.

Prepare to move your clocks an hour forward on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 2:00 a.m.

All Albertans on Saturday night or Sunday morning should set their analog clocks as we are entering the beginning of springtime.

This allows for more daylight and brighter mornings and evenings.

All digital and Wifi-connected devices should switch automatically at 2:00 a.m.

A vote was taken by Albertans on October 18, 2021, where it was nearly a 50/50 split with 50.2 per cent of citizens saying no to getting rid of daylight savings.

With 536,874 Albertans voting to keep daylight savings time, 49.8 per cent voted to get rid of it. That’s 531,782 Albertans against it, making a 5,092 difference in the decision-making process.
