Stolen tools racks up Bonnyville man with charges
A variety of power tools totalling over $40,000 was seized as the result of a Bonnyville RCMP search warrant.
On Feb. 5, a Bonnyville business on the 5100 block of 55th Avenue was broken into.
After following the suspect along the Iron Horse Trail, police obtained a search warrant to a residence in a local trailer park, RCMP said.
Police found the tools from the business break-in and several others, including a Kabota tractor stolen in July 2022.
Patrick Schmold, 33, of Bonnyville was arrested and faces three charges of possession of stolen property over $5000, one for each victim, and a charge of possession of meth.
He is scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on April 25.
Of the 19 tools taken, all but one has been returned to its rightful owner.
A Milwaukee circular saw with the initials “SP” and a “distinguishable engraving” is still in police possession.
