City open house informal, opportunity to ask questions

City staff and elected officials will be available tonight to address questions and concerns from residents.

The City of Cold Lake is having an informal Open House tonight at the Lakeland Inn from 6:00-9:00pm.

The “come as you go” type of style will see a brief introduction from Mayor Craig Copeland and then residents can fire away questions.

“We’re looking for people to voice any questions they have,” said Copeland. “It’s going to be mostly kind of an open format. There’s going to be some boards out there. The idea is I’ll talk for a little bit, with hopefully no coughing, and answer any questions that anybody wants to ask.”

In the past, the City has hosted similar engagements. In this particular occasion, there isn’t one highlighted topic. However, there will be graphics presented.

Residents can ask about what’s in the budget, or other city hot topics.

“If they have questions about anything from the Humane Society to the homeless shelter to crime. We’re willing to hear from the public, it’s an opportunity to talk to council and the voice concerns. If nobody shows up, then that’s just the way it goes…but were encouraging participation from the public.”

There is no need to register for the event. For more information, you can contact City Hall at 780-594-4494.
