One seriously injured after collision between semi and pickup truck
A Lac La Biche woman has been transported to Edmonton after sustaining serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision that took place Monday night.
Highway 36 was closed for several hours yesterday, due to a head-on collision involving a semi-truck and a pickup truck.
Lac La Biche RCMP received a 911 call of a multi-vehicle collision at approximately 6:15 p.m.
The highway was shut down for six hours before being re-opened to the public at 12:45 a.m. on Jan. 24.
The 37-year-old female driver of the pickup was travelling alone, a resident of Lac La Biche, who suffered serious injuries and was taken by EMS to Lac La Biche Hospital to be transported by plane to Edmonton due to the severity of her injuries. She is now reported to be in serious but stable condition.
The semi-truck driver, a 48-year-old male who was also travelling alone, a resident of Leduc, did not suffer any physical injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing at this time, police say.
