Bonnyville’s Pack the Police Car is this afternoon

If you are looking for your chance to give back, Bonnyville RCMP and their partners are calling out all residents to donate this Friday.

From 12:00 – 3:00 p.m., not only RCMP and MD Peace Officers but joined with them a Bonnyville Minor Hockey U13 team will be standing in the Sobeys parking lot collecting not only non-perishable food items but other toiletries and necessities that could help someone in need.

“We started this a few years ago, we park a couple of RCMP police trucks at the grocery store and encourage grocery shoppers and the public to donate for a good cause,” said S/Sgt. Sarah Parke for the Bonnyville RCMP.

“We would be looking for non-perishable food items but in addition to that other necessary items such as diapers, baby wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, those kinds of things as well.”

With the cold weather and Christmas quickly approaching this is an amazing time to help someone else enjoy the holiday season.

“This time of year there is always a higher need, the food banks get hit up pretty hard this year, given inflation and people having a tougher time over the past couple of years it is definitely an important time to donate,” said Parke.
