St. Paul’s Nicolas Beaudoin continues to rack up the accolades in his first full season of Junior A hockey.

On Friday, the Bonnyville Pontiacs forward was named the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Player of the Month after an outstanding November, which saw the 2004-born forward collect 10 goals and 14 assists in 11 games.

He was awarded the Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 7-13 and was then recognized as the AJHL Rookie of the Week the following week.

Playing alongside Matteo Giampa, the league’s 3rd highest scorer, and fellow rookie Max Seguin, they have combined to form one of the most dangerous lines in Alberta junior hockey.

Beaudoin is third in goals across the league with 21 and first amongst rookie.

Giampa and Weiss begin camp Monday

Yaks second year players Matteo Giampa and Bodee Weiss are part of 31 invitees to Team Canada West camp that will take place from Dec. 5th-7th at the Cornwall Civic Complex for three days of practices and games.

This is part of the World Junior A Challenge tournament — which Bonnyville hosted in 2016 and 2018 — that begins Dec. 11.

Giampa is currently third in AJHL scoring with 15 goals and 33 assists in 29 games this season. That includes being the league’s leading 5-on-5 scorer.

Meanwhile, Weiss has posted solid numbers this season as the Yaks starter. He is second in the league in wins with 12 and has a 3.33 goals against average and .900 save percentage in 20 appearances this season, as of the announcement last Thursday.
