St. Paul area FCSS’s all coming together
Family and community supports in the St. Paul area will now be administered through one place.
The County of St. Paul, Town of St. Paul and Town of Elk Point, have each agreed to do a regional approach to FCSS (Family and Community Support Services) following a recent agreement.
Each community has ran their own in the past, with the County and Elk Point joining forces in 2015. But now with all three, they will enter the provincial grant program for multiple municipalities.
St. Paul mayor Maureen Miller said that a big reason in coming together to offer these services was to be smarter and spread their dollars farther.
“Over the course of the last two years, I guess this is been experimenting and trying on what parameters might work for us actually doing it as a regional opportunity,” said St. Paul mayor Maureen Miller.
“The regional stuff that we do is truly benefitting all of the region. And the more we can work together — the greater understanding of each other’s challenges and how we need to solve them and work with community, especially with family and community services.”
