On Oct. 4, 2022, shortly after 1:00 p.m., St. Paul RCMP received numerous 911 calls of a female being chased through town by a male with a rifle.

RCMP located and arrested the male without incident and located a bayonet type machete measuring 3 feet in length. Upon further investigation it was learned the male had struck the female several times with his hands, chased her with the machete, and threatened to kill her. The female victim was located safe and unharmed.

Elmer Jackson (43), resident of Saddle Lake, Alta. has been charged with:

  • assault with a weapon
  • possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • mischief under $5000 – damage to property
  • uttering threats against a person

Following a judicial hearing, Elmer Jackson was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 20, 2022, in St. Paul Provincial Court.
