Vehicle collision at Highway 28 & 54 Avenue where new traffic lights are installed

The scene is now clear as of 5:00pm on Tuesday evening of a multi-vehicle collision in Bonnyville.

Just before 4:00pm at the intersection of Highway 28 and 54 Avenue, Station 5 responded to a two-vehicle collision. Three people were seen by first responders and sent to the Bonnyville hospital.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

New traffic lights were installed over the weekend at this intersection in four directions but so far are in default mode. The lights heading east out of Bonnyville towards Cold Lake and west into town are flashing yellow caution lights at the moment, while the two lights crossing Highway 28 are flashing red lights.

Motorists are reminded to be mindful of these traffic signs while passing through the intersection.
