Sanderson wanted on 3 counts of first degree murder, RCMP continue search
Saskatchewan RCMP are continuing the search for Myles Sanderson who is wanted on at least three counts of first-degree murder.
Police have been trying to track down Sanderson since Sunday morning after 10 people have been confirmed dead and 18 injured on a stabbing spree.
After further investigation into the reports of possible sightings of Myles Sanderson on the James Smith Cree Nation on Tuesday afternoon, the Saskatchewan RCMP has determined that he is not located in the community.
His whereabouts remain unknown and an emergency alert is active for the entire province of Saskatchewan. Residents are urged to take appropriate precautions.
The Saskatchewan RCMP are working in collaboration with municipal police agencies within the province and additional RCMP police resources from neighbouring provinces to assist with the investigation and to ensure the continued safety of the public.
The killings occurred on September 4, 2022, at the James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon.
Additionally, Sanderson is wanted for one count of attempted murder and one count of break and enter.
Damien Sanderson, 31, was found dead Monday with wounds that did not seem self-inflicted, according to RCMP.
He is 32 years old and is described as being approximately 6’1” weighing approximately 240 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.
