Feast at the Beach returns for food and music celebration

Sunshine, music, and a whole lot of food.

That is on the cards this Friday and Saturday at Kinosoo Beach for the Cold Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Feast at the Beach.

Back for the second time after a two-year hiatus, the lineup has been set for the free festival, emceed by nationally-known country music DJ Casey Clarke.

While all the action is free, bring an empty stomach, because you can load up your FATBeach card with cash in order to enjoy the various food trucks which are coming for the two-day affair.

“We had our inaugural one in 2019, which went incredible. Way better than we thought,” said Chamber president Ryan Lefebvre.

“It’s really nice to have it back. We’re seeing across all of our events so far this year, the amount of people that are attending, attendance is awesome. It’s nice to be able to do these things again.”

Whether it’s poutines, donairs, international cuisine, or sweet treats, there is something for everyone at the festival.

Hungry beach goers can enjoy the Caribbean tastes of Irie Foods Xpress, choose sweet or garlic with Soner Donair & Kebabs, take a bite of The Dog’s poutines, or sample Filipino cuisine from Joanne’s Food Truck.

Also on hand is The Mini Donut King, Monkey Y Sus Amigos ice cream, El Mero Mero, and Coffee Stat!.

The live entertainment begins Friday evening at 4:00pm with The Travis Dolter Band, followed by Jordyn Pollard, Ryan Langlios, and The Derina Harvey Band.

Saturday’s performances starts a little earlier at noon with Three Hat Circus, which is something aimed at the kid. They’ll perform later in the afternoon as well.

6 Minute Warning, Kendra Kay, and Bobby Wills are the evening acts.

The event will highlight the recent additions to Kinosoo Beach, including more seating spaces.

“We’ve had just a tremendous amount of people commenting to, not only city staff, but council about the beauty of Kinosoo Beach,” said Mayor Craig Copeland.

“The designer on the last phase deserves a lot of credit. City staff upkeep that every day, we have a staff that is going out to change up the sand, clean the sand up every day.”

There is a Kids Zone to keep young ones happy including bouncy castles and facepainting.

Titans Boxing Club is also holding a Tug or War area for the truculent who wish to battle in the sand.

The first event happened in 2019 and organizers are looking to recreate some of that magic, while expanding the entertainment value for the 2022 festival.
