On July 10, 2022, The Cold lake RCMP responded to a call of a male suffering several gunshot wounds in the area of the Cold Lake First Nations. The male was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition. The Cold Lake General Investigations Section conducted an investigation in relation to this incident and on Aug. 24, 2022, laid charges against three individuals:

 

 

 

Colton Rain Moyah (20), a resident of Fishing Lake Metis Settlement, Cage Omeasoo (18), a resident of Saddle Lake Cree Nation, and a 17-year-old male have all been jointly charged with the following offences:

 

  • Attempted Murder with a Firearm
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Robbery
  • Possessing a Firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order.

 

 

All three individuals have already been remanded in custody since July 10, 2022 due to other criminal matters they are next scheduled to appear in court on various court dates in September at St. Paul Provincial Court .
