New bus riders can Meet the Bus next week

Students who be anxious or are new to riding the school bus will get a chance next week to alleviate some of those concerns.

Northern Lights is doing its Meet the Bus program at elementary schools next week.

Transportation staff will be visiting NLPS between August 29th and September 2 to introduce new riders to taking the school bus, which will include the opportunity to meet a bus driver, get a tour of the school bus, learn about school bus rules, and take a short bus ride.

NLPS said the goal of the program is to increase students’ confidence and reduce anxiety about taking the bus to and from school. While primarily for Kindergarten students, any students who have not taken the bus before are welcome.

Registration is not required to participate in any of the sessions just stop by your local school at one of the scheduled times.
